Keep the benefit visible
Record why the experience matters alongside the real risks and proportionate controls, rather than treating risk paperwork as a reason to remove worthwhile challenge.
Benefits, risks and controls in context
Oakline is Forest School risk-benefit assessment software that keeps the assessment with the actual session, so staff and parents see the right information at the right point in the workflow. Providers can attach an optional RBA while creating or editing a session and keep its intended benefits, identified risks and proportionate control measures in context.

Designed around the work
Oakline keeps the customer journey and the provider workflow connected from the first booking through to session delivery and reporting.
Record why the experience matters alongside the real risks and proportionate controls, rather than treating risk paperwork as a reason to remove worthwhile challenge.
The assessment belongs to one Oakline session, so staff and families can open the context relevant to the programme they are viewing.
Administrators maintain the RBA, staff open a read-only version from the register, and parents can review a parent-friendly version during booking.
One connected workflow
Risk-benefit assessment is optional. When creating or editing a session, an administrator can select Add risk-benefit assessment and record the title, activity context, site notes, intended benefits, identified risks, who may be affected, control measures, residual risk, additional notes, preparer and last-reviewed date.
Save up to five reusable RBA templates and manage them from Settings, or save the current session's RBA as a new template without leaving the session form. Loading a template fills the RBA fields in one step, ready to adjust for that session.
When an RBA exists, the session register shows an RBA button. Authenticated staff can open a focused, read-only view without receiving unrelated administration controls. Current RBA access requires an internet connection.
A Risk-benefit assessment link appears after the public session description when that bookable session has an RBA. Parents can read the assessment without seeing database identifiers or edit controls.
Oakline keeps bookings, child and family records, staff access, the session register and risk-benefit information connected to the session being delivered, rather than storing the RBA as an unrelated generic form.
Use the prepared-by and last-reviewed fields to make ownership visible. Providers remain responsible for reviewing the assessment when the activity, site, participants, equipment, weather context or professional guidance changes.
