Oakline is an installable Progressive Web App. Teams can prepare supported registers before leaving reliable signal, record supported attendance changes offline and synchronise those changes when connectivity returns.
Initial setup, payments, fresh server data and workflows that have not been prepared for offline use still require an internet connection.
Staff operations stay alongside delivery: staff and administrator accounts, assignments, clock events, timesheets, training records and payroll preparation support the team behind each session.

What is Oakline?
Oakline is an installable Progressive Web App for UK Forest Schools and outdoor education providers. It connects bookings, payments, child records, registers, staff operations, reporting and learning journeys across mobile, tablet and desktop.
Can Oakline be used when there is no signal?
Prepared registers and supported attendance actions can remain available offline and synchronise when connectivity returns. Setup, payments, fresh server data and unsupported workflows still require internet access.
How much does Oakline cost?
Oakline has no monthly software subscription on its pay-as-you-go pricing. A 3% Oakline platform fee applies to booking revenue, and Stripe processing fees are charged separately.
Do families get an installable Forest School parent app?
Yes. Each provider has a tenant-branded family portal that parents can add to supported phones and browsers as a Progressive Web App. It is not a separately distributed native App Store or Google Play app.
Can each session send its own parent instructions?
Yes. When configured, Oakline sends the booking confirmation and a separate session-specific welcome email for practical information. A checkout spanning several sessions currently uses the first enabled session's welcome email.
Does Oakline support Learning Journeys and child observations?
Yes. Practitioners can publish session reflections and child-specific observations with headlines, next steps and consent-aware photos. Parents can review shared moments privately and export the selected child and date range as a PDF.
Does Oakline support risk-benefit assessments?
Yes. An administrator can attach a structured RBA to a session, staff can open a read-only view from the register and parents can review it during booking. RBA access currently requires connectivity and does not replace daily or dynamic assessment.
