Prepared before you lose signal

Digital forest school registers that keep working outdoors

Prepare the session register while connected, then keep essential attendance and safeguarding information available when woodland signal is unreliable. A prepared register snapshot carries the children booked into that session, their medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, SEND information, emergency contacts, photo consent and each family's payment status, so staff are not left without this context in a low-signal woodland site.

Guides and feature details

Continue with the exact workflow

Use the Help Centre for step-by-step guidance or check the feature matrix for current availability and conditions.

Designed around the work

Less reconciliation, more confidence in the day

Oakline keeps the customer journey and the provider workflow connected from the first booking through to session delivery and reporting.

Attendance in a few taps

Mark children present or absent from a mobile-friendly register without returning to a desktop dashboard, and record it even with no signal.

Important details close at hand

Medical information, allergies, dietary needs, SEND support information, emergency contacts and photo consent remain associated with the child record in the prepared snapshot, not just online.

Offline preparation

Warm the offline workspace before the session so the day can continue when connectivity drops.

One connected workflow

Built for the way outdoor providers actually operate

From booking list to live register

There is no second attendance list to maintain. Active bookings create the working register for each occurrence.

Designed for the field

Large controls and a prepared snapshot give authenticated provider and staff users attendance, medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, SEND information, emergency contacts, photo consent and payment status on phones and tablets, without needing signal.

What stays online-only

Risk-benefit assessments and Learning Journey writing are not part of the offline snapshot and still need connectivity — the register snapshot is scoped to attendance and child safeguarding context, not every Oakline workflow.

A record after the session

Supported attendance changes sync back into Oakline so reporting, family records and session history stay aligned. The full online child file remains the source for the latest edits and any changes made elsewhere during the session.

Questions, answered

What providers usually ask

Can I use Oakline without internet in the woods?

For the session register, yes. Prepare the register snapshot while connected and staff can then view it and record attendance with no signal, synchronising when connectivity returns. RBA consultation and Learning Journey writing are separate workflows that still need connectivity.

What information can Forest School staff access offline?

The prepared register snapshot for a session includes the children booked in, their medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, SEND information, emergency contacts, photo consent and each booking's payment status.

Can staff see medical and SEND information offline?

Yes. Authenticated provider and staff users can access recorded medical, allergy, dietary, SEND and support context from the offline register snapshot, not only when connected. Providers remain responsible for granting appropriate access and keeping records current.

Can attendance be recorded offline?

Yes. Attendance changes made offline are queued and synchronise automatically once a connection returns.

Do Learning Journeys or risk-benefit assessments work offline?

No. The offline register snapshot covers attendance and child safeguarding context only. Writing Learning Journey observations and consulting or editing a risk-benefit assessment both currently require an internet connection.

Do cancelled bookings stay on the register?

Cancelled and refunded bookings are separated from active attendees so the working register reflects the current session.

Can the register be printed or saved as PDF?

Yes. The working register has a print layout and can be saved as a PDF through the browser print dialogue.
