Overview

Oakline is designed with a "Security First" approach to ensure the safety and privacy of your data. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, from secure connections to isolated data storage.

Key Security Measures

Tenant Data Separation

Oakline uses a multi-tenant architecture with logical data isolation. This means that while many schools use the platform, your data (families, bookings, registers) is logically separated from every other school's data. Strict software controls ensure that one tenant cannot access another tenant's data.

Secure Connections

All data transmitted between your device and Oakline is encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS). This ensures that no one can intercept the data while it is travelling over the internet. You can verify this by looking for the padlock icon in your browser's address bar.

Authentication

We enforce secure password policies for all administrative and staff accounts.

  • Password Hashing: We never store passwords in plain text. They are hashed using robust encryption algorithms (bcrypt).
  • Session Security: Inactive sessions are automatically logged out to prevent unauthorized access.

Backups and Continuity

We perform regular automated backups of the entire database. These backups are stored securely to support service continuity and allow us to recover the system in the unlikely event of a technical failure.
